Amazon Favorites: Road Trip Must-Haves

As someone who has personally seen the devastation COVID-19 can cause in a family and a community, you’ll understand why I’m so careful about keeping my family safe. It’s the reason why I’ve done a good amount of research as how to travel while keeping our risk of exposure to the virus as low as possible. I have found that the best, safest and only way I feel comfortable doing some traveling is by car and staying at contact-free Air BnB properties. Check out my 5 Tips for Safe Travel blog here and my Tips for Road Trips with Children blog here.

Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite travel products I’ve found on Amazon. These are only a few of the many super helpful items I have in the Travel section of my Amazon Shop. Check out my Amazon shop for all of the items I consider Must-Have Travel Products on Amazon here.

1. Car Top Carrier Roof Bag
This is an investment we’re so glad we made. Because you’re likely to spend a good amount of time in the car, we recommend keeping it as spacious as possible. That’s why we purchased this luggage storage bag that sits on the roof of the care. We weren’t so crapped because most of our suitcases and things that didn’t need to be so accessible were up there. It really did help keep us comfortable for the hours of travel in the car.

2. Car Backseat Organizers
Whether you have children or not, I highly recommend having organizers in the car to keep some of your travel necessities in visible but contained spots. From cleaning products to umbrellas or water bottles to extra face masks – these backseat car organizers are a must. These also happen to have a pocket for tablets so you can do some hands-free streaming of your favorite movies or shows.

3. Portable Solar Charger Power Bank
I am so happy I discovered this amazing power bank. It uses sunlight to power up and charge devices. So just place it on your dashboard and you’ll be set for extra charges if and when you don’t have access to an outlet or the car’s USB ports.

4. Headphones for kids and adults
Headphones are an essential when you’re traveling with your family. Each member can watch or listen to their entertainment of choice without being interrupted by the other passengers in the car. So while one person listens to music and another watches a movie, you can listen to your audio book while the driver listens to their favorite podcast through the car’s audio.

5. First Aid Kit
This one may be a no-brainer but we often forget to actually have a good first aid kit in the car. These are handy for cleaning up wounds from accidental fall, to bandaids for tight shoes or simply having a small pair of scissors to open packages while on the road. You’ll never regret having one of these available for big or small emergencies.
