North Fork, Long Island

We decided to spend one weekend this Summer traveling through Northfork, Long Island. The North Fork is a 30-mile-long peninsula in the northeast part of New York’s Suffolk County, which is on the East end of Long Island.

This area is known for its more than 30 vineyards. That is why we knew we had to enjoy some wine during our visit.

Our first stop was at Osprey’s Dominion – a vineyard with picnic tables so that people can enjoy their wines and some food. This is one of the very few (if not only) vineyards that allow you to bring outside food.

We decided to have a nice picnic there thanks to the FreshDirect Summer bag we were gifted. Of course we purchased on of their wines as well and it was as tasty as the vineyard was beautiful.

Our second stop was Sparkling Pointe which is known for…you guessed it…sparkling wine! We actually did a tasting there where we tasted about 5 different sparkling wines.

This vineyard was much more formal than the previous vineyard. There was seating available indoors and outdoors, so you can enjoy the air conditioning when it’s very hot.

It was a lovely Summer day when we arrived so we sat outside, where we could enjoy the views of the vineyard.

Their wines were so delicious we purchased two of their wines.

Our last stop on our trip to North Fork was Lavender By The Bay. We were fortunate enough to visit during the perfect time (end of June/early July) when the lavender was in full bloom.

This place was magical. The lavender was incredibly fragrant and you can smell the lavender as you approach the farm in the car.

As you can see, it was ridiculously beautiful and the stuff of Instagram dreams.

We had a great time exploring North Fork. What are some your weekend plans for the rest of the Summer? Any road trips planned? Let me know!
