Some people think you can’t wear black in the summer. I am not one of those people. You can wear black on warmer days as long as the fabrics keep you cool and the style is appropriate.
Case in point – this Bar III outfit I purchased during my Macy’s By Appointment visit. Bar III is one of my favorite brands that are sold exclusively at Macy’s. Their pieces have a cool girl chic vibe to them that I just love.

Bar III top is super light and I love the way its cut in the back. You’ll stay cool while showing off some [not too much] skin in this T-Back camisole. The best part? It’s reversible!
I fell in love with this skirt the moment I saw it on my blogger friend, Aminta Iriarte of
ClothesAndFashion.net. I knew I had to have it. Although it may look like the faux leather material of this skirt may get too hot, it’s actually light and breezy as well.
I love adding feminine pieces to strong looks. That’s why I added this delicate vintage handbag by Carolina Herrera. The long strap allows me to carry it comfortably over the shoulder or as a cross-body bag.

I really enjoyed adding dark accessories to this outfit of the night. The bracelet was gifted to me at a Rebecca Minkoff event the designer hosted. It features silver hardware with crystals and a black band. I’ve had this black Diesel watch for years and thought this night was the perfect occasion to pull it out. I also wore my makeup a little dark. I created this eye shadow look using my Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette. I also blended Anastasia Beverly Hills‘ Pure Hollywood with Kat Von D‘s Lolita to create my lip look.
