Have you ever struggled with what to wear to a brunch with your girlfriends when you know you need to hit the gym? In this Outfit of the Day post, I’ll show you how a few select pieces can transition your look from brunch to crunch (aka your workout).
Brunch is a cultural and social staple in New York City. It’s where friends catch up on each other’s lives all while imbibing delicious culinary treats and bottomless drinks. Who doesn’t love brunch!?
Brunch is also another opportunity to showcase casual style. You want to be comfortable while you eat but you also want to look good while doing so. This look keeps all those aspects in mind with the added factor of wanting to do a little exercise after. You have to work off those elaborate, organic, locally grown menu items somehow, right?
This Old Navy varsity jacket is a great fall piece. It’s casual with a sporty feel but still looks great over any outfit. The jacket also features quilted fleece which is a wonderful touch for a simple and affordable piece of outerwear.
To literally carry you through your day, you’ll need a great workout bag to take you from the restaurant to you fitness activity of choice. This is a black and white Lacoste gym bag that features a large crocodile logo on the front pocket. This bag actually folds into a small black pouch, which makes it incredible easy to travel with.
These fabulous shoes are by a Colombian brand named Bosi. I purchased them years ago but they still have a lot of life in them. The fact that these shoes stand the test of time is indicative of the great quality of the manufacturer. Not to mention they’re shoes that never go out of style.
Now to the Workout!

These skinny sweatpants are by Old Navy. They’re super comfortable and easy to move around in – a great combination for workout pants. My favorite thing about these pants are the black stripes on sides. They’re not only a stylish embellishment but they create the illusion of a slimmer leg.

The top is by famed yoga clothing line Lululemon. Their products are really worth the hype. They’re very well made and incredibly figure-flattering. This top features a great design on the back and is in the color merlot. Expect to see this color everywhere this season.

These black Asics sneakers are great for anyone with a low arch and/or folks who tend to place their weight on the outer sides of their feet. Not only are they functional and good for your feet, but they’re quite stylish as well. I love black sneakers. They go with everything and make me feel ready for whatever workout lies ahead.

To keep me on time and to track my fitness goals, I use the Polar FT7 heart monitor/watch. It comes in an array of colors but I love the sleek black and silver combo. This watch monitors your heart rate as you exercise and thus gives you an accurate reading of how many calories you’ve burned off. I’m also wearing my Dior aviator sunglasses to protect my eyes from the sun and adds just another touch of cool to my look.

I kept my makeup simple for easy removal post-brunch. I’m wearing FLOWER Beauty‘s Kiss Stick in Get to the Poinsettia. I love the bright red hue as a major pop of color to my look.
