Growing up in a Latino family meant that soccer was a big part of our lives. No, no. Correction: fútbol was a big part of our lives. My brother and most of my cousins played soccer. In fact, some continue to play in local leagues here in New York City. When I had my daughter, I knew I wanted to engrain some of my favorite cultural traditions into her life and this is certainly one of them.
