One of the best things about my summer in Segovia, Spain several years ago is that I was introduced to European brands years before they came to the United States. But I’m so glad some have finally arrived for our shopping pleasure.
Thanks to fellow blogger Naty Michele (of A Love Affair with Fashion), I was able to see pieces from Desigual’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection.
I love Desigual. It’s a very unique Spanish brand with pieces that reflect the colorful and fashion-forward style of young Spaniards. As with all Desigual collections, be prepared to see bold prints, bright colors and amazing textures. Below are some of my favorite pieces from the S/S14 collection (including accessories and clothes from the children’s line). Warning: You’re going to see a few closeup shots because I’m obsessed with Desigual’s textures, embroidery, print and all of the amazing details featured in every piece.
- You have to check out Desigual’s coats and jackets. They’re beautiful and always eye-catching. You will definitely be noticed walking around in their outer-wear in a sea of the usual black coats and jackets. Just take a look at the one I walked away with c/o Desigual here.
- Leave it to Desigual to make simple black and white dresses into pieces of art. Their dresses are not only feminine and figure-flattering, but they feature stunning prints that up your dress game to a whole new level. Just take a look at the details.
- Just as much thought and detail goes into the design of their children’s clothing. They’re just as ornate and well made as the adult clothing featured in the collection. The only differences I noticed was that instead of more structured shapes and fabric, the children’s clothing was made with softer fabrics and more casual styles.
- I love the jewelry featured at this preview. They reminded me of the artisanal jewelry I saw at many of the craft and town fairs throughout Spain. What a great opportunity to own authentic-looking Spanish pieces that you could only find if you actually traveled to the European country.
- Desigual handbags are something to see. They’re the epitome of what Desigual is all about. Details. Details. Details. Every bag is incredible. They feature gorgeous embroidery and color in an array of styles. This bag collection does not disappoint.
- Oh shoes! What girl doesn’t love a great pair of shoes? Desigual will be your best friend in Spring and Summer with their latest collection of footwear. You will friend everything from sandals to wedge sneakers, flats to towering heels. And, of course, each pair features the beautiful details that the brand is famous for.
- Last but certainly not least is their new collection of perfumes. Desigual cheekily believes you can have sex, fun and love every day of your life thanks to these intoxicating perfumes.
