As I mentioned in a previous post, I attended the Project Runway All Stars Season 3 Premier Party. The theme of the night was punk, inspired by the punk themed challenge in the first episode (featuring Debbie Harry!). So how does a pinup mom get punk? I’ll show you!
To add a touch of rock to my outfit of the day and as a way to keep myself warm in the cool NYC Fall weather, I wore my SheInside trench coat. I just love that it has faux leather sleeves and collar. It definitely gives the classic trench coat a modern rock ‘n’ roll twist. Buy it here.
My dress is from the French brand NAF NAF. I fell in love with NAF NAF on one of my many trips to Colombia years ago. I visit their Medellin store every time I’m in the country. They just have such beautiful clothing that will never go out of style. It kills me that they don’t have a store in the United States yet.
This dress is made of thick cotton material which makes it perfect for cooler days and nights out. It’s made in a classic cut with a pleated A line skirt. The pockets are both functional and adorable. But the back of the dress is the best part.
The back features a sexy cut out that will catch everyone’s attention (even in a room filled with fashion designers and models!). The two overlapping upper back pieces are actually held together with a large button. The skirt is also held together along the back with a row of buttons. Don’t you just love when dresses have amazing details like these?
My two-toned Sam Edelman leather booties also gave me an aire of rocker chic. Thanks to the thick heel, I was able to comfortably stay on my feet for hours as I took photos and talked to designers. Buy them here.
When I think punk rock, I think gunmetal. I finished my outfit of the night by adding some gunmetal baubles. This included an artisan necklace made in Colombia, a beaded gunmetal bracelet (also from Colombia) and my new All Saints Emeline double ring. Find something similar here.
I kept my eye makeup classically neutral with a pinup twist (thanks to my signature winged eyeliner). I vamped up my lips with MAC’s Show-All (one of my fall must-have lipsticks. Como mencioné en un artículo anterior, asistí a la fiesta de estreno de Project Runway All Stars Temporada 3. El tema de la noche fue el punk, inspirado por el desafío en el primer episodio (con Debbie Harry!). Entonces, ¿cómo una madre pinup consigue un look punk? ¡Te voy a mostrar!
Para añadir un toque de rock a mi traje del día y como una forma de mantenerme caliente en el clima frío de otoño, me puse mi abrigo de SheInside. Me encanta que tiene mangas y cuello de cuero sintético . Definitivamente le da la gabardina clásica un moderno toque de rock ‘n’ roll.
Mi vestido es de la marca francesa NAF NAF. Me enamoré de NAF NAF en uno de mis muchos viajes a Colombia hace años. Visito su tienda en Medellín cada vez que estoy en el país. Tienen ropa hermosa que nunca pasará de moda. Me mata que no tienen una tienda en los Estados Unidos todavía. Cómpralo aquí.
Este vestido está hecho de tela de algodón gruesa que la hace perfecta para los días y noches más frescos. Está hecho en un corte clásico con una falda plisada. Los bolsillos son funcionales y adorables. Pero la parte de atrás del vestido es la mejor parte.
La parte posterior ofrece un corte sexy que llamará la atención de todo el mundo (incluso en una sala llena de diseñadores de moda y modelos!). Las piezas superiores de la espalda están unidas con un gran botón. La falda también se mantiene unida a lo largo de la parte de atrás con una fila de botones. ¿No te encanta cuando vestidos tienen detalles sorprendentes como estos?
Mis botines de dos tonos de cuero por Sam Edelman también me dieron un aire de la elegancia rockera. Gracias al talón grueso, tuve la oportunidad de permanecer cómodamente de pie durante horas mientras yo tomaba fotos y hablé con los diseñadores. Cómpralos aquí.
Cuando pienso en el punk rock, pienso en el color gris plomo. Terminé mi traje de la noche, añadiendo un poco de joyería en plomizo. Esto incluyó un collar artesanal hecho en Colombia, un brazalete de cuentas plomizo (también de Colombia) y mi nuevo Emeline anillo doble de All Saints. Encuentre algo similar aquí.
Mantuve mi maquillaje de ojos neutral y clásico con un toque pinup (gracias a mi delineador ). Mis labios estaban listos para el otoño con el labial Show-All por MAC (uno de mis labiales favoritos para el otoño. Estén atentos para mi lista completa muy pronto!).
