My Dad Has COVID: How He Got It & How It’s Treated

My father was a ventilator in a medically induced coma. He was infected with COVID-19 by a relative who thought they only had a cold while visiting family and even friends across 3 states. My dad trusted that they were being careful. They were both wrong.

As we look towards the last few weeks of 2020, I urge everyone to consider trading in one or a few holidays for the opportunity of having many many more in the years to come.

My heart and thoughts are with my dad right now but I also occasionally think about the guilt that some will have to live with for their roles in the illness and deaths they have directly contributed to.

I’m posting about my dad in hope that it can help others understand what can happen when someone becomes infected with the Coronavirus, how it’s treated and to help others who may be going through the same feel less alone.

Please wear a mask. Please social distance. Please avoid gatherings in enclosed spaces with people outside of your household. Please stay safe. I wouldn’t wish any of this on anyone.
