Ornella has been in the neighborhood for years but they have just revamped their menu and introduced a whole new brunch menu that will make you feel like you’ve been invited into owner/chef Giuseppe Viterale’s home.
The meats was also served with a delicious and semi-sweet onion marmalade and a spicy chili jam.
Giuseppe also served us a pasta that is perfect for warmer weather – Orechiette with Prosciutto and Melon.
It is the Chestnut Pasta with Creamy Pistachio Sauce and Truffle Oil (pictured above). It is UNBELIEVABLY good. You definitely MUST try this dish.
Another delicious dish found on the brunch menu is the sweet polenta. It’s perfect for thos of you who like to indulge on the sweet stuff during brunch.
The brunch menu also includes a Panini di Porchetta, which is a thinly sliced roasted pork pressed sandwich.
What brunch menu would be complete without an egg dish? Ornella serves up a massive Pane Cotto (cooked bred over Sausage anf Broccoli Rabe with two Fried Eggs).
We finished our meal with a Venetian digestive, Sgroppino. It’s a tasty mixture of Lemon Sorbet, Vodka and Prosecco.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed my meal. You simply MUST add this to your NYC brunch places to try. You will not be disappointed.
Disclaimer: I was invited to eat at Ornella for this complimentary meal by the owner and his press team. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.
