On April 17th, I was invited to attend Real Simple Magazine‘s Beauty & Balance event. I had such a great time, I just had to share it here with all of you.
I’m a huge fan of Real Simple. It’s the only “home” publication I actually subscribe to. It’s filled with such great articles and I feel inspired every time I read it.
This event was billed as a Beauty & Balance spa day. Guests were invited to make appointments for special services, including a mini facial, a makeup make-over, wine & chocolate pairing tasting and even a workout!
I’m ashamed to say I haven’t had a good facial in a long time. My ridiculously busy schedule simply will not allow for it as of late. That’s why I immediately made an appointment for a RoC Skincare mini facial. It felt wonderful and I’m loving their anti-aging products. Remember, it’s never too early to start the fight against wrinkles!
I also indulged in a little makeover. This service was provided by Laura Geller. I hadn’t tried their products before and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of their makeup. Not to mention how beautiful each of the products used felt and looked on my skin.
I told the makeup artist I wanted to try some Spring trends. She said the biggest trend this season is the natural/no makeup look (Remember my Fashion Week beauty post?). She kept my look clean and light with a pop of bright lip color. What do you think?
My absolute favorite thing about the event was the Pure Barre class. I had never taken that workout before and I was super psyched to finally give it a try. If you’re not aware, Pure Barre is a trendy exercise class that is based on ballet moves. You focus on small movements that really target specific muscles and allow you to burn a good amount of fat. I was shaking the entire class but I loved every sweat-inducing minute of it.
I’m so thrilled I was able to attend this event. Even though I wasn’t able to get my hair in the hands of an Aveda stylists or taste the Ghirardellli chocolate & wine pairing (by choice!), I had a fabulous time.
What do you look for in a spa day?
