Chic in the City

Dress: Bar III // Shoes: Seychelles // Bag: Louis Vuitton // Jewelry: My Pacific Pearls

I attended a lovely blogger brunch hosted by Bar III in the meatpacking district of New York City. I wore this chic Bar III dress to the event. Like a great number of the female [and some of the male] population, Audrey Hepburn is one of my favorite style icons. This outfit of the day is my take on a modern Audrey look

This dress is simply perfection. The top fits like a glove and the classic fit & flare shape looks great on everyone. The wide black and white stripes on the bottom also give this dress a stylish eye-catching accent.
The modern twist on this dress is the length. The short skirt gives the modern girl a chance to show off her legs as they stroll through any special engagement.
You’ll also note that I’m carrying the latest addition to my Louis Vuitton collection – my Alma BB Rose Angelique. I have not used this bag as often as I would like to so I just jumped at the chance to take it out for a spin to this blogger brunch.

My pop of color comes by way of my fuchsia and pink shoes. These super cute retro heels are the All Dressed Up Pumps by Seychelles. They’re one of my favorite vintage-reproduction brands. These T-Strap shoes are in fuchsia colored suede material with pink straps.

Don’t you just love the details on these shoes? They feature pleating of the suede on the heels and an exquisite circular design over the toes made with the light pink leather. The shape of the heel and toe box are also quite unique and reference decades past.
I kept my hair simple yet sophisticated by pulling my stands back into a bun. I finished my look with neutral eye makeup using Urban Decay‘s Naked Basics palette and my signature red lip (via Sephora‘s Always Red lip stain). And, of course, my pearl set from My Pacific Pearls
