Dress: Adrianna Papell //Shoes: Sam Edelman via Nordstrom Rack // Purse: Vintage Sondra Roberts // Jewelry: Colombian Gold
I spent last weekend in New Orleans with my family. This quick little getaway was for my husband’s high school reunion. The moment I found out about it, I immediately went on a hunt for the perfect dress to wear. After packing a few choices, I actually found my dress the afternoon before the reunion.
My husband loves when I wear white so I knew I had to wear a dress in this shade. I also love white dresses but I prefer when they have special, eye-catching details that make the dress really stand out. This Adrianna Papell dress fit the bill perfectly thanks to the black band that runs across the natural waist and up the shoulders.
My absolutely favorite thing about this dress are the black lace panels that are stitched along the sides of the dress. You all know I love a good panel dress (see my easy work look blog post and a recent instagram picture here and here), but the black lace takes this dress to a whole new level.
I wore my black patent leather heels by Sam Edelman. These are actually super comfortable thanks to the moderate heel height. I love Sam Edelman shoes and was thrilled to find these at the Union Square Nordstrom Rack for a very affordable price.
Nothing says New Orleans more than black and gold. That’s why I added my vintage Sondra Roberts black and gold handbag. This gorgeous bag features a dense gold netting strap and snap handle. It also has a sequin pattern in a really beautiful finish. I also finished the look by adding a Colombian gold ring my aunt gave me for my 8th grade graduation. It is made up of 7 thin rings with 16 small stones.
