Today is the day Colombians around the world celebrate their history and culture. From music to literature. From cultural phenomenons (did you know Ugly Betty was based on a Colombian telenovela?) to art and beyond. Colombians have given the world so many beautiful things. Today we celebrate that on the day of Colombia’s Independence. To honor and celebrate this great day, I’ve made this special Paisa Outfit of the Day.
In case you don’t know, the colors of the Colombian flag are yellow, blue and red. Here’s I’m wearing a yellow American Eagle Outfitters dress. I’ve incorporated the blue with a belt and the red with these Bakers wedges, both are faux patent leather. I’ve also used the colors of the Colombian flag (shared with Ecuador and Venezuela) in my makeup. I’m wearing Chrome Yellow, Electric Eel, and Contrast MAC eyeshadows. I’ve placed some Dainty blush on my cheeks and Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry on my lips (my red!). I’m also wearing a traditional Colombian hat in one of the photos below. It’s called a sombrero vueltiao/vueltiado (spanish for hat with lips).

Hoy es el día en que los colombianos alrededor del mundo celebran su historia y cultura. De la música a la literatura. A partir de los fenómenos culturales (¿sabía usted que Ugly Betty se basó en una telenovela colombiana?) del arte y más allá. Los colombianos han dado al mundo muchas cosas hermosas. Hoy celebramos todo esto en el día de la Independencia de Colombia. Para honrar y celebrar este gran día, he hecho este especial traje del día Paisa.
En caso de que usted no lo sabe, los colores de la bandera de Colombia son amarillo, azul y rojo. Aquí yo estoy usando un vestido de American Eagle Outfitters amarillo. He incorporado el azul con un cinturón y el rojo con los zapatos de Bakers. También he utilizado los colores de la bandera colombiana (compartido con Ecuador y Venezuela) en mi maquillaje. Yo estoy usando las sombras Chrome Yellow, Electric Eel, y Contrast de MAC. Me he puesto un poco de rubor en mis mejillas llamado Dainty de MAC y Colorburst Lip Butter de Revlon en el color cherry en mis labios (mi rojo!). También estoy con un sombrero tradicional de Colombia en una de las fotos de abajo. Se llama un sombrero vueltiao / vueltiado.
