Fit Friday: 5 Kitchen Essentials for Weight Loss

If you’re on a new diet or health plan, you know that part of success includes making your own meals instead eating out or ordering in. That’s why I’ve compiled this list of kitchen essentials to help you create healthy meals and stay on track.

Measuring Cups & Spoons

Don’t underestimate how important these little utensils can be. You’ll need these not only to follow recipes but to help you calculate exactly how many calories per ingredient you’re consuming. Place them in a kitchen drawer or hang them up with a measurement conversion chart.

Food Scale

Another tool that can help with recipes and calculating how much you’re eating is a food scale. These tools can help weight everything from fruit to meat, which can sometimes be difficult to estimate.

Blender

The quickest way to lose weight is to replace one meal a day with a nutrient-rich juice or smoothie. If you prefer the thicker smoothie option, you’re going to need a good blender. I personally own a Ninja blender and food processor. I think it’s one of the best brands out there. Try one for yourself.

Juicer

Everyone now seems to know the benefits of incorporating healthy juicing into your diet. I love making juices filled with greens, iron-rich beets, carrots and more. Make them sweet or make them savory with the help of a powerful juicer.

Cookware Set

Since you’ll need to cook your own meals in order to control the exact ingredients and portions you consume, you’ll need a good cookware set that will take care of all your cooking needs. I highly recommend Rachel Ray‘s Hard Enamel Set. I own the green set and I absolutely love it. It inspires me to cook every time I look at it no matter how tired I may be. Find one that inspires you.
